Shooting

A man was critically injured Wednesday night when multiple people broke into his apartment near the Las Vegas Strip and shot him several times, Metro Police reported.

A second victim in a next-door apartment suffered a minor injury when a stray bullet went through the wall and grazed the person, police said.

About 11:15 p.m., a Metro patrol unit reported gunshots coming from an apartment complex in the 400 block of East Naples Drive, near Paradise Road and Tropicana Avenue.

Officers arrived to find a man with multiple gunshot wounds inside his apartment, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said. No suspects have been identified, she said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition but was expected to survive, police said.
