Recently, several Sun letter writers have stated that Obamacare is the law of the land now and we should stop trying to revise or repeal it and move on.
Reviewing American history, one sees that slavery, Jim Crow and Prohibition were laws of the land, as well. Fortunately, in each case we had activists who would not sit still until these injustices were corrected.
The Affordable Care Act is a deeply flawed piece of legislation. It confiscates basic freedoms by forcing individuals and businesses to buy a service, unfairly taxes individuals and businesses, and collects huge amounts of personal data the government has no power under the Constitution to collect.
Republicans have offered an alternative plan, but their proposals don’t see the light of day with our left-leaning media.
I steadfastly hope that those opposed to this bill keep up the fight to preserve American freedom.
