The Lake Mead triathlon competitor found dead Saturday at the lake was identified today as Patrick Hayden, 59, of Las Vegas, according to Clark County Coroner’s Office officials.
A kayaker patrolling the event at Boulder Beach discovered Hayden’s body, said Christie Vanover, spokeswoman for the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Rangers and paramedics performed CPR on Hayden, and then transported him to Boulder City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner’s office is working to determine how Hayden died.
