This is a timeline from the shooting at Sparks Middle School this morning that killed two and injured two.

7:15 a.m.: Shooting at Sparks Middle School, students are evacuated to nearby Agnes Risley Elementary School.

8:15 a.m.: Police tell the Reno Gazette-Journal parents can pick up students at Sparks High School

8:41 a.m.: Sparks City Manager Shaun Carey tells RGJ shooter died from self-inflicted gunshot wound.

9:03 a.m.: Angela Rambo, spokeswoman for Renown Regional Hospital, said they have received two male patients, both minors, and both are in critical condition.

9:20 a.m.: Sparks police say several people were shot this morning at Sparks Middle School. Two people have died. Two people are in critical condition at Renown Regional Medical Center. Authorities say it is too early to release details about the shooter and the victims.

9:50 a.m.: Sparks Middle School student Kyle Nucum, 13, tells the RGJ he saw a student shoot his teacher.

11 a.m.: At a press conference, authorities confirmed one person killed was a staffer. ""My information is he's a hero," Reno Police Department Deputy Chief Tom Robinson said. "We don't know everything he was trying to do yet, but we know he was trying to intervene." The other who died was described as a "student/suspect." The last of the Sparks Middle School students are being picked up from Sparks High School. "This is just a tragic day for us," Superintendent Pedro Martinez said. "A very tragic day." Other officials at the press conference expressed grief and complimented police for their response. Sparks Middle Shool will be closed this week. Agnes Risley Elemenetary Shool will reopen Tuesday.
