Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon led qualifying Friday in the NHRA Toyota Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Seeking his first series title, Langdon had a run of 3.778 seconds at 324.28 mph. In the last event Oct. 6 in Mohnton, Pa., he raced to his series-leading sixth victory of the season.

"The Al-Anabi team just did a phenomenal job preparing the race car and making two great runs down the track," Langdon said. "They were clean runs and we just want to continue that."

Courtney Force topped the Funny Car field, Allen Johnson was the fastest in Pro Stock, and Adam Arana took the Pro Stock Motorcycle lead in the fifth of six events in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

Force had a 4.052 at 318.24 in a Ford Mustang. Her father, series leader John Force, was sixth at 4.085 and 308.99. The 64-year-old star has won the last two events.

Johnson, the defending series champion, finished in 6.651 at 206.99 in a Dodge Avenger, and Arana had a 6.946 at 192.71 on a Buell.
