Two verbal commits to the UNLV basketball team and nine Las Vegas-area athletes are part of The Ultimate 100 from Scout.com, which was released Monday and ranks the nation’s top 100 high school basketball players regardless of graduation year.

The UNLV connection: Dwayne Morgan, a 6-foot-7 power forward from Baltimore, is ranked No. 46; Goodluck Okonoboh, a 6-foot-9 center from Massachusetts, is No. 78. Both class of 2014 prospects are expected to sign with UNLV during the fall signing period Nov. 13-20.

At national power Findlay Prep: Six Pilots were listed as top-100 prospects, including 6-foot-5 shooting guard Rashad Vaughn. Vaughn, of course, is a key UNLV recruiting target. Findlay forward Kelly Oubre, a Kansas commit, is listed at No. 9. Others listed from Findlay include: 2016 power forward Justin Jackson, Arizona-committed forward Craig Victor at No. 39, 2016 point guard Derryk Thornton at No. 50 and power forward Jonah Bolden at No. 67.

More locals: Juniors Stephen Zimmerman (No. 13) and Chase Jeter (No. 52) from defending state champion Bishop Gorman each made the top 100, and freshman Troy Brown Jr. from Centennial came in at 100th. Brown, who has yet to play a high school game, is one of three from the class of 2017 listed. Last week, he picked up his first scholarship offer — from hometown UNLV. The 6-foot-11 Zimmerman and 6-foot-9 Jeter each have double-digit offers and will be able to handpick where they play at the next level.
