Most roads reopened after storms; portion of Grand Teton still closed

Flooding:Aug.25

A pickup truck drives through storm runoff on Grand Teton Drive near Grand Canyon Drive Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013.

Most northwest valley roads affected by weekend flooding have reopened to traffic.

The one exception is Grand Teton Drive, which remains closed between Oso Blanca Road and North Tee Pee Lane, city officials said.

City crews continue to clean up storm debris on that stretch of road, so motorists are advised to use Gilcrease Avenue as an alternate route.

Rain in the Spring Mountains over the weekend resulted in ash and soot washing downhill to northwest valley roadways, causing a slippery mess.
