Air conditioning outage cancels classes at Durango High

School has been canceled today for Durango High School students after a second air conditioning outage.

The Clark County School District notified parents through phone calls and emails from its automated ParentLink system.

Students will make up the missed classes on Nov. 4, which was previously scheduled as a day off for staff development, school spokeswoman Melinda Malone said.

This is the second consecutive day an air conditioning outage has disrupted classes at Durango High. Students were sent home early Tuesday when air conditioning units stopped working.

The units were fixed Tuesday night before breaking down again this morning, Malone said.
