Las Vegas Sun sports reporters spend extra time this week discussing impending matchups between Green Valley and Coronado and Centennial and Arbor View. Sam Woodbury picked off two passes, including one in the waning seconds, to help Boulder City pick up a 14-8 victory over Pahrump Valley.

“It was a stand they needed to make,” Boulder City coach Alex Kazel said of his young team’s last-minute efforts. “They need to learn from everything they need to do. We can gain a lot from this experience.”

Woodbury also rushed for 37 yards, most of it coming on a 20-yard touchdown run.

Nelson Van Diest rushed for 57 yards on 14 carries to lead the Eagles (2-1), while Xavier Steel scored a touchdown.

The Trojans fell to 1-2 on the season.
