Woman drowns

Metro Police arrested a 51-year-old man who attempted to kill himself after he allegedly drowned a woman in his backyard pool during an altercation.

Neal Huff, 51, was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center one count of murder.

Police investigation revealed that Huff and the victim were arguing Saturday morning at a home in the 5800 block of Sleepy Spruce Street. The argument turned physical and entered the backyard, where Huff and the woman fell into the pool, police said.

Huff allegedly drowned the victim while struggling with her in the pool, then tried to commit suicide, police said.

Police arrived about 8 a.m. and found the woman alongside the backyard pool and Huff with apparent signs of trauma around his neck.

Huff was treated at Spring Valley Hospital before he was taken to the detention center.
