Man dies of gunshot after argument in parking lot

A man was found shot Saturday night in a parking lot near Carey Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.

Metro Police responded about 8:40 p.m. to reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 6900 block of Appleton Drive. The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Eric Ruis.

Preliminary investigation indicates that there had been an argument between several people in the parking lot prior to the shooting, police said. Gunshots were heard in the area but not immediately reported, police said.

Metro has not identified any suspects or motive for the shooting.
