Las Vegas gets a pro basketball team — but only in a new Web show from Yahoo

Yahoo announced today it will create two new original shows, one of which will be set in Las Vegas.

The Internet company will launch the two series with eight 30-minute episodes on Yahoo Screen, which can be seen online via a mobile app and on Apple TV and Roku.

One of the shows will be called "Sin City Saints." According to the company's Tumblr post, the show will feature a Silicon Valley tycoon who buys a pro basketball expansion team in Las Vegas.

"Sin City Saints will follow the triumphs, travails and transgressions of Las Vegas’ first major league sports franchise," the company said.

The show's executive producer will be Mike Tollin and the director will be Bryan Gordon.

The company's other show will be called "Other Space," about a spaceship that finds an alternative universe.
