The writer of the Monday letter “Securing border isn’t the solution” thinks all those young people entering our country illegally from South and Central America should be allowed to stay. He feels it would be a humane thing to do, and I agree with that aspect.
However, as soon as word reaches the rest of the hundreds of millions of people in those lands, we will be inundated. The flood of people would compare with Hoover Dam breaking and releasing all of the waters of Lake Mead down the Colorado River — unstoppable.
This country could not support many of these people, and they would become a burden to society. It’s unfortunate, but do we really need this?
