Former UNLV Rebel to make second bid for reality-TV love tonight

Marquel Martin-Andi Dorfman

Rick Rowell / ABC

Marquel Martin of Las Vegas competed for the affection of Andi Dorfman on ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”

Marquel Martin has a master's degree from UNLV, was a reserve defensive back for the Rebels and competed for “Bachelorette” Andi Dorfman’s heart on season 10 of the hit reality show. Now, the Las Vegas resident is on to his next adventure: Martin will appear on tonight’s premiere of “Bachelors in Paradise,” looking for love among “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” rejects in Mexico.

Martin lasted on “The Bachelorette” for five episodes but was sent home after getting no kiss and no one-on-one date. Now, the Las Vegas resident is stepping out of the friend zone and onto the warm beaches of Tulum, Mexico, to fight for another shot at love. Like the original, “Paradise” will feature rose ceremonies and one-on-one dates. But with a ratio of eight women to six men, Marquel has little chance of being left loveless — on this episode, at least.

The local heartthrob works in sponsorship sales at the UFC and is best known on the reality circuit for is his charming personality, dapper style and bringing Andi a box of cookies on the show’s first night.

Whether you know him as the Cookie Monster, Prints Charming, or just Marquel, you can tune in to watch Martin test his fate at 8 p.m. today on ABC.
