letter to the editor:

Impeach Obama and elect Trump

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has sent emails stating that House Speaker John Boehner’s lawsuit against the president isn’t a political stunt and that impeachment proceedings are imminent.

All I can say is thank God, and it’s about time!

President Barack Obama has done everything in his power to sap the economic vitality out of the middle class, most notably by keeping energy prices artificially high by inhibiting America’s oil and natural gas production.

All this does is raise the cost of doing business, making America less competitive, lowering the standard of living and costing countless jobs.

On the opposite end of the energy spectrum sits businessman Donald Trump, who has said that if he were president, fracking would make America the “energy capital of the world,” which would slash our taxes, reduce our energy costs by 50 percent and create millions of high-paying jobs.

Who in their right mind wouldn’t rush to the polls to vote for this pro-growth mandate?

On the strength of this comparison, how do we not immediately impeach Obama and his anti-American agenda that hurts the middle class and not immediately adopt Trump’s vision of opening America’s energy spigots full blast, which would end this recession overnight?

As I see it, Trump is far and away ahead of any GOP candidate when it comes to taking maximum advantage of America’s untapped energy potential.

Thirty years ago, Ronald Reagan won a landslide re-election by touting America as the “shining city on a hill.” Well, as mythical as that was, Trump’s vision of making the U.S. the “energy capital of the world” is very much a potential reality.

All we have to do is let him do it, and ironically, it would fulfill Reagan’s “shining city on a hill” vision as well.
