Thunderstorm brings rain to parts of Henderson

An isolated thunderstorm brought sporadic rain and wind gusts to parts of Henderson today.

The storm developed around 4:20 p.m. in the McCullough Range south of the Las Vegas Valley, according to the National Weather Service. About 10 minutes later, Anthem residents reported light rain, as did residents near Boulder Highway.

The area around the 215 Beltway and Stephanie Street saw heavy rain, according to social media posts on the weather service's Facebook page. Thunderclaps were reported, and wind gusts were estimated in the 30-40 mph range in some areas.

As of 5:30 p.m., the heavy rain appeared to have subsided.
