A Pahrump woman was killed Friday when a tire on the Mercedes-Benz she was driving failed and the car overturned, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. on U.S. 95 North in Nye County.
The woman lost control when the the right rear tire failed and the car ran off the highway and overturned, partially ejecting the 37-year-old driver, officials said.
The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not wearing a seatbelt, a preliminary investigation found, officials said. Her name was not immediately released.
The Highway Patrol did not indicate what caused the tire to fail.
