51s can’t overcome giving up 5 runs in first inning at Omaha

The Las Vegas 51s surrendered five first-inning runs today at Omaha in a 9-5 defeat.

Anthony Seratelli went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored for Las Vegas, and Matt Reynolds went 2 for 5 with three RBIs. Las Vegas scored three times in the ninth inning, but the outcome was long decided.

Kevin Plawecki and Allan Dykstra each had two hits for the 51s, while Omaha’s Carlos Peguero hit his 25th home run of the season.

The series concludes Tuesday in Omaha. The 51s return to Cashman Field Thursday to face New Orleans.
