Henderson Police cut desk services at all but downtown station

Henderson Police are temporarily eliminating desk services at two stations because of staffing shortages, city officials said.

The stations at 300 South Green Valley Parkway and 225 East Sunset Road will no longer offer desk services.

The closures will put more officers on patrol to respond to emergencies until officers in the academy can be trained, according to a city news release. Staffing levels are expected to improve by summer 2015, officials said.

People who want in-person assistance from a desk officer for non-emergency requests and questions will have to visit the department’s main station at 223 Lead St. in downtown Henderson.

Desk services are available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including holidays.

Police reports for minor traffic accidents and crimes where there is no suspect information can be filed online at cityofhenderson.com/police, officials said.
