Vegas Play of the Day: Kansas City Royals at Colorado Rockies

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Kansas City Royals minus-115 at Colorado Rockies: $345 to win $300

The Royals’ run into first place has continued with three straight victories and six out of the last seven. Overall, they’re 17-3 since July 30 and I’m comfortable trying to ride that hot streak against a limping Colorado team.

While Danny Duffy’s record (8-10) doesn’t look very good, he’s won his last three decisions and the team has won his last five starts. Duffy has a 2.6 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP so, like many pitchers, his record is deceiving. Now that Kansas City is hitting the ball better, Duffy is one of many pitchers who have benefited in the win column.
