Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a Saturday shooting that left one woman dead and another injured, according to county detention records.
Carim Cruz, 27, was arrested Thursday and faces nine felony charges including murder and assault.
Metro Police said Cruz showed up to an early morning party at a restaurant near Flamingo Road and the 215 Beltway and got into a confrontation with several people. The argument spilled outside into the parking lot and became physical, which is when police say Cruz got into a Mercedes-Benz and drove by a large gathering of people, firing multiple shots at bystanders.
Las Vegas resident Deanna Serano, 33, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, while another woman was taken to University Medical Center.
Metro identified Cruz as a suspect following the shooting and considered him armed and dangerous. He is currently being held at Clark County Detention Center, and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
