The community is being invited to welcome home the Mountain Ridge Little League players and coaches from the Little League World Series, where the team finished second in the nation and fourth in the world.

The team is expected to land about 8:30 p.m. at McCarran International Airport, Clark County officials said. The public is invited to meet the team in the baggage claim area in Terminal 1.

Coach Ashton Cave, a Clark County Fire Department firefighter, is expected to address the crowd.

Firefighters from McCarran’s Clark County Fire Station 13 will douse the aircraft with a ceremonial water cannon salute as it taxis to the gate, officials said.

The Mountain Ridge team is the first Little League team from Nevada to make it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn.
