Jeremiah England had two rushing and one receiving touchdowns today for the Pahrump Valley High football team in a 40-7 victory against visiting Bonanza.

Keenan Harris started the scoring in the first quarter with a 53-yard touchdown run, helping the Trojans score 40 unanswered points to open the game.

They are one of two Division I-A teams to beat a high-classification opponent tonight in the initial week of games. Desert Pines was the other, beating Desert Oasis.

“It’s obviously a huge momentum builder for our kids to start the season like this,” Pahrump coach Joe Clayton said.

Quarterback T.J. Milk threw a touchdown pass, Tom Gascoigne had a 12-yard scoring run and Devlin Dillon scored on a 25-yard run.

It was a perfect way to start the season, especially playing so well at home.

“We played in front of a huge crowd,” Clayton said.
