Fire
A house in North Las Vegas was a total loss after firefighters responded to an early morning blaze and found flames and heavy smoke coming from the attic and roof, city fire department officials said.
Crews from the North Las Vegas Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded about 3:50 a.m. to the fire at 521 Recco Avenue, near Lake Mead Boulevard.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire, North Las Vegas Fire Department Capt. Cedric Williams said.
A woman who lived at the house was not home at the time, and no one was injured, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
