Airport garage reopened after suspicious packaged deemed safe

Updated Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 | 3:18 p.m.

A suspicious package found at a McCarran International Airport garage today caused the parking structure to be shut down for three hours as a precaution.

Metro Police responded about 11:30 a.m. to reports of a suspicious item in the employee garage. Police determined the package wasn’t dangerous and reopened the garage at 2:45 p.m., Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

No other areas of the airport were affected.
