The Las Vegas Wranglers’ Chad Nehring beats Utah Grizzlies goalie Aaron Dell in the shootout on Jan. 7, 2014.

The Las Vegas Wranglers won for the first time since Dec. 11 tonight, snapping a 10-game losing skid with a 3-2 shootout victory against the host Utah Grizzlies.

John Armstrong’s goal in the third period for Las Vegas evened the game at 2-all to force overtime. After no goals were scored in the five-minute session, the Wranglers’ Chris Francis, Chad Nehring and Jeff Mary record shootout goals to propel Las Vegas to the win.

Las Vegas fell behind just 90 seconds into the game when Utah’s Mathieu Aubin scored. But Francis tied the game for Las Vegas with a goal three minutes later.

Goalie Mitch O’Keefe made 43 saves in the win for Las Vegas, which meets Utah at 6:05 p.m. tomorrow in West Valley City, Utah, before the Wranglers continue their road trip Saturday in Bakersfield, Calif.
