Letter to the editor:

More work and less play for Obama

The Jan. 5 edition of the Sun included an article by Michael Shear of The New York Times about President Barack Obama’s favorite TV shows. It began: “War, terrorism, economic struggle, mass shootings — such is life in the Oval Office ...” It then noted which shows Obama is drawn to in his spare time.

What? All he has is spare time: weekly rounds of golf, giving out awards, granting frivolous interviews, knowing more about sports and pop culture than what happened to his ambassador appointee in Bengazi while he played cards with his bodyguard.

If he isn’t off on a seminar in Sweden or traversing the continents for pleasure, he is using expensive jet fuel to push one of his social agendas rather than working with Congress.

The article goes on to list 10 television shows this overextended man has time to watch, admitting he has worked his way through the DVDs of “Mad Men.” These do not even include all the sports he enjoys watching or his time on the basketball court.

Here is a president of the once most-admired and powerful nation on earth but now in debt over $17 trillion. He has continued expensive vacations after disrupting the economic structure of our country, upsetting the best health care system in the world, keeping poor people from progressing, and vacating Iraq, leaving it for al-Qaida.

He truly is a Nero fiddling while turning this once-great independent country into a socialist nation.
