Shooting

A motorist was shot dead this afternoon while traveling down a busy intersection with his two young children.

He was identified Wednesday as Cleottus Harvey, 26, of Las Vegas, Clark County Coroner’s Office officials said.

Metro Police Lt. Mark Reddon said Harvey was shot at 5:17 p.m. near Tropicana Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, where he lost control of his car and went careening into other vehicles and caused a three-vehicle wreck. His children, ages 2 and 3, were unharmed.

Though police have not yet determined a motive in the shooting, evidence suggests it might have been the result of road rage, Reddon said.

Investigators have not identified a suspect. No other injuries were reported.
