Coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in crash with car

The Clark County coroner has identified a motorcyclist who died Thursday afternoon in a collision with a car as 28-year-old Griffith Alexander Grossguth of North Las Vegas.

At about 2:10 p.m., Grossguth was riding north on Western Avenue, just north of Sahara Avenue, when he crossed into a southbound lane to pass other vehicles, according to Metro Police.

While he was riding past other vehicles, a Chrysler 300 turning left from northbound Western Avenue into a parking lot crossed in front of the motorcycle, police said.

Grossguth collided with the car and was ejected from his motorcycle, police said. He fell in front of the car and was pinned underneath it, police said.

Grossguth died at the scene.

The driver of the car was transported to University Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.
