Standoff
A possible fugitive who barricaded himself inside a house for about five hours today has turned himself in to SWAT officers.
Metro Police saw the man in the driveway of a home near Eastern Avenue and Russell Road about 11:40 a.m. and identified him as suspect in an attempted murder, Officer Bill Cassell said.
As officers approached, the man ran inside the house and refused to emerge until about 5 p.m. Police said he surrendered peacefully.
A section of Russell was shut down at the intersection during the standoff.
