Former UNLV player Efren Navarro went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Salt Lake, knocking a run-scoring single and later scoring a run in Salt Lake’s ninth inning rally.
The teams combined for eight runs in the first inning, including a two-run home run from the 51s’ Brandon Allen and a bases clearing double from Kevin Plawecki for an early 5-3 Las Vegas lead.
The initial three batters in the Las Vegas batting order — Daniel Muno, Matt Reynolds and Wilmer Flores — each scored two runs.
