Las Vegas firefighters are shown after tending to a fire that gutted a laundry room fire at the Cornerstone Crossing Apartments, Thursday, July 3, 2014.

A laundry room fire destroyed several commercial washers and dryers used by residents of an apartment complex in the western valley Thursday evening, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

Dispatchers received several calls about the fire at around 4:40 p.m. When firefighters arrived at Building U at the Cornerstone Crossing Apartments near Washington Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, they found flames and smoke pouring out of a single-story wood-frame structure attached to the side of an apartment building, spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

They doused the fire and managed to prevent it from spreading to the apartment building, but the fire destroyed the room at an estimated cost of $25,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No one was injured, Szymanski said.
