Police searching for suspect in assault at convenience store

Metro Police identified this person as a suspect in an assault on a clerk and the theft of cigarettes from a convenience store in the 6400 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard on May 21, 2014.

Metro Police are searching for a man they say assaulted a convenience store clerk before stealing a bag of cigarettes.

The suspect entered the store in the 6400 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard about 3:20 a.m. on May 21, threw a bottle of liquor at the store clerk and hit him in the face, police said. He then grabbed a trash bag and filled it with cigarettes before making his escape, police said.

The suspect was described as 26 or 27 years, 5 feet 8 inches tall old with a medium build and short brown hair. He was wearing a multi-colored, checker-pattern hoodie, khaki cargo pants and black shoes. He also wore a large gold watch and a black Chicago Bulls hat.
