51s, Albuquerque each win game in doubleheader

The Las Vegas 51s split a doubleheader today against visiting Albuquerque at Cashman Field, winning 8-1 in the first game and falling 5-2 in the nightcap.

The 51s built an 8-1 lead after four innings in the first game, highlighted by Allan Dykstra’s bases-clearing triple in the fourth.

Outfielder Matt den Dekker went 3 for 4 with double and two runs scored, and Matthew Bowman picked up his first Triple-A victory by striking out three in seven innings.

In the second game, Las Vegas scored a run in the first inning on Josh Satin’s RBI single and took a 2-1 lead in the second when Daniel Muno’s sacrifice fly scored Cesar Puello.

But Albuquerque pulled away with three runs in the fifth inning to salvage a split in the doubleheader.

The final game of the three-game series with Albuquerque is 7 p.m. Saturday. The 51s won’t return to action until Thursday, getting four days off for the all-star break.
