Police find man dead after neighbor reports gunshots

Metro Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in a home in the southwest valley early this morning.

Dispatchers received a call at 12:19 a.m. from a resident in a neighborhood near Durango Drive and Blue Diamond Road who reported hearing banging on a neighbor’s door and gunshots, police said.

When officers arrived at the home on Lower Trailhead Avenue to do a welfare check, they found the front door kicked in, Metro Lt. Ted Glaude said. Officers found a man in his early 20s with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
