The Clark County Coroner’s office has identified the woman who was found dead near a northeast valley elementary school early Saturday morning.
Maricela Faurrieta Suarez, 34, a Las Vegas resident, was found deceased by Metro Police on the 1200 block of Fairchild Street near Brookman Elementary School after a call to authorities at 5:47 a.m.
The woman died of a gun shot wound to the head, according to the coroner’s office, and the death has been ruled a homicide.
Metro Police believe the woman was killed elsewhere and latter dropped on Fairchild Street.
This is the 71st homicide in Metro Police jurisdiction this year, and detectives are continuing to investigate the crime.
