Updated Saturday, July 26, 2014 | 12:10 p.m.

The man who died after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle Friday afternoon was Las Vegas resident Cesar Flores, 41, the Clark County Coroner's Office said Saturday.

The accident happened about 4:20 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard South near Frias Avenue, which is less than a mile from the South Point.

It's unclear what caused the Nissan sedan to collide with the man riding the bike, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson. The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he died.
