Fatal stabbing

Metro Police have identified the man who died after an altercation with his roommate took a violent turn over the weekend.

Police and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded around 9 a.m. Saturday to a call about a man bleeding profusely in an apartment complex, police said. When responders arrived at the 200 block of North 9th Street, they found the man with what appeared to be a stab wound on his leg.

The victim, identified as Donald Dail, was taken to University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

An investigation determined that the victim had argued and fought with Timothy Stall, 22, who was arrested Saturday and booked on a murder charge.

In an interview with police, Stall alleged that Dail began to attack him with a cane, prompting him to fight back.

Surveillance video showed Stall punching Dail before breaking out the glass to a fire extinguisher and throwing the broken pieces into their apartment, police said.

Dail was struck in the leg.

Stall claims to have heard Dail scream, but he left the apartment without checking on him, police said.

He was later found in an alleyway between 8th and 9th streets, which is north of Ogden Avenue, and taken into custody.

Police say he claimed to be suffering from PTSD and had been trying to protect himself.

Stall was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges of murder with use of a deadly weapon.
