Allan Dykstra had a bases-clearing double today for the Las Vegas 51s in a four-run eighth inning, but the 51s couldn’t overcome an early four-run deficit to visiting El Paso in an 8-5 defeat.
Matt den Dekker and Matt Reynolds each had two hits for Las Vegas, and Kirk Nieuwenhuis scored two runs.
Bishop Gorman High graduate Donn Roach earned the win for El Paso in his Las Vegas homecoming, giving up one unearned run in 5 2/3 innings.
