Fire in garage causes $75,000 damage to home in Henderson

A car caught fire in a garage today in Henderson, causing heat and smoke damage to the home.

The homeowner was awakened by the blare of smoke detectors about 3:50 a.m., ran outside and called 911, Henderson Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Satterlee said. Firefighters arrived at the home near Fox Ridge Drive and North Valle Verde Drive and extinguished the blaze.

No one was injured. The heat and smoke caused about $75,000 damage, Satterlee said.

The fire was determined to be accidental, but the cause remains under investigation, he said.
