Bail set at $250K for man held in schoolgirl attack

Bail was set at $250,000 for a 25-year-old Las Vegas man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a young girl walking on a shortcut public trail to school.

Reginald Deangelo Davis remained in custody Tuesday following an initial appearance before a Las Vegas judge who appointed a public defender and scheduled a preliminary hearing July 8.

Davis faces kidnapping, sexual assault of a minor, child abuse and lewdness charges that could get him up to life in prison if he's convicted.

School officials noticed the girl was injured and summoned police who traced the description of a two-tone SUV seen in the area of the 6 a.m. Thursday attack off Bonanza Trail south of U.S. 95 near Rainbow Boulevard.

Davis was arrested Friday near his home on Lake Mead Boulevard.
