51s can’t erase 10-run deficit, fall at Oklahoma City

Travis d’Arnaud homered for the fifth time in seven games today for the Las Vegas 51s, but it wasn’t enough in a 13-9 loss at Oklahoma City.

The 51s trailed 11-1 after five innings when Gregorio Petit hit a three-run home run for Oklahoma City.

Las Vegas (40-30) scored three runs in the sixth inning courtesy of d’Arnaud’s three-run home run, and added four runs in the eighth to make the score respectable.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis belted a solo home run for the 51s, Brandon Allen scored two run and Daniel Muno had two RBIs.

The series concludes Monday at Oklahoma City. The 51s return to Cashman Field Tuesday to face Nashville, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.
