CARSON CITY — A 27-year-old man has been returned to Carson City to face charges in the home invasion robbery of a 101-year-old veteran and his caretaker over Memorial Day weekend.
Robbie Hernandez of Carson City was arrested in Sparks on an unrelated charge and later identified as a suspect in the Carson City case.
The Nevada Appeal reports he was booked into the Carson City Jail and his bail was set at $1.25 million.
Authorities say Hernandez and 24-year-old Jordan Burkhart of Wellington forced their way into James Sorrentino's home looking for a safe, but Sorrentino doesn't have one. After ransacking the home, they fled with a wristwatch, pocketknife and wallet containing $30.
The two are charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, home invasion, assault and crimes committed against someone over 60.
Sorrentino is a World War II Army Air Corps and Air Force veteran.
