Vegas Play of the Day: Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners under-7 at minus-115: $460 to win $400

In this daunting post-basketball world, I’m in search of anything that can keep me afloat at the top of our Play of the Day standings. I can’t figure out the WNBA like Ray Brewer, so that leaves me searching for trends in baseball.

Last time out, I went with another under because the San Diego Padres have been paying off on that side more than 60 percent of the time. The Red Sox aren’t far behind.

Boston recently went under in 12 out of 13 games. Of course, things have evened out a little with three straight overs entering tonight’s game. Still, Seattle and Boston have two of the worst team batting averages in the American League and this recent outburst of offense won’t last long.
