Updated Thursday, March 6, 2014 | 5:50 p.m.

Two people on a motorcycle suffered serious injuries today after a car driver struck them from behind while fleeing from another wreck.

Metro Police responded about 5:25 a.m. to the second, more serious, crash at Spring Mountain and Wynn roads. Det. P. David Rooney said the car’s driver, identified as Jonathan Porter, 27, fled on foot before officers arrived. He later turned himself in to police about 11 a.m. and he was charged with felony hit and run.

The man and woman riding the motorcycle were rushed to University Medical Center with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.
