Gov. Brian Sandoval has named Las Vegas gaming executive Anthony Marnell III to the state Athletic Commission that regulates boxing and other unarmed combat events.
The governor said Wednesday that Marnell will fill the unexpired term of T.J. Day, a Reno business and civic leader who died Jan. 24. The term expires Oct. 31.
Marnell is chairman and CEO of the M Resort. He is also CEO of Marnell Sher Gaming, which owns and operates the Colorado Belle and Edgewater resorts in Laughlin.
He formally served on the state Board of Equalization.
