Nearly two months after 45-year-old Irma Mkrtchyan vanished from Las Vegas, Metro Police believe they may now be searching for a body.

Mkrtchyan, who worked as a Farmer’s Insurance agent, was last seen Jan. 19 visiting a client at the Allanza Apartments, but she never made it home.

Metro Homicide detectives took over the investigation Saturday, after investigation uncovered that Mkrtchyan may have been a victim of foul play, police said.

The decision confirmed brother Davit Mkrtchyan’s worst fears. He visited Las Vegas from New York in February to search for his sister.

Police initially told him that his sister could have left on her own free will, but he remained suspicious.

He didn’t think his sister would voluntarily leave her home, where she lived with her ex-husband and son.

Davit Mkrtchyan said he received a call Monday from detectives that confirmed his fears that something happened to his sister.

Police urge anyone with information to call Metro Homicide at 828-3521 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or online at www.crimestoppersofnv.
