Fire does $100,000 damage at vacant building

A roaring blaze engulfed a vacant brick building Sunday night on Industrial Road, requiring 56 firefighters to extinguish it, Clark County Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters responded about 8:05 p.m. to the two-alarm fire at 2515 Industrial Road, near Sahara Avenue. Eight engine companies, two ladder trucks, three rescue units and one heavy rescue unit were needed to contain the flames, officials said.

The fire caused about $100,000 in damage and destroyed the middle section of the building, officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, and the cause is under investigation.
