Woman, three dogs found dead in mobile home fire

A woman and three dogs were found dead today after firefighters put out a fire at a mobile home in Sandy Valley, about 60 miles southwest of Las Vegas, a Clark County spokeswoman said.

About 10:15 a.m., the Clark County Fire Department received multiple 911 calls of the fire and reports of a person inside the home, county spokeswoman Stacey Welling said in a news release.

When firefighters from Volunteer Fire Station 77 in Sandy Valley arrived at the home at 401 N. Spring St., it was engulfed in flames, she said. After putting out the blaze, firefighters discovered a woman in her mid-60s, along with the animals, Welling said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim, pending notification of family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
