Rainbow Road overpass

A woman jumped from the Rainbow Boulevard overpass this morning and fell to her death onto a ramp connecting U.S. 95 and Summerlin Parkway, Nevada Highway Patrol officials said.

Two vehicles hit the body, and the ramps from eastbound Summerlin Parkway to U.S. 95 North and South were closed for more than five hours as Metro Police investigated the incident, Trooper Jeremie Elliott said. The ramps were reopened to traffic about 11 a.m.

The Clark County coroner will release the name and identity of the woman after family members have been notified.
